The first notebook laptop to consider, and one of the most popular, would be the Acer Aspire. The Acer Aspire is popular for several reasons. The Acer sports a wide 9 inch widescreen which is perfect if you plan to use this laptop a lot. It has sharp and bright color that is adjustable to help you see better. Acer is a little bit larger than the other mini notebooks but not by much. The Aspire is the best mini laptop if you want to find a smaller notebook but still keep a lot of your great features.

The second mini laptop that is growing in popularity is the Asus Eee PC 1000. This model is larger than the original Asus notebooks that are already out, but it is still considered a mini. It has the same Intel Atom processor that you can find in all the other Asus models. One good feature to the Asus is that it runs less on energy, so your battery lasts longer while you are out.

Lg Xnote Mini X130 Netbook Review

LG recently launched its new netbook in its home town. The Xnote Mini X130 netbook is the latest addition to the line-up of netbook computers from the house of LG. The most exciting thing about the new netbook X130 is its battery life; it can give the netbook a runtime of 12 hours.

The Xnote Mini X130 surely comes with a host of next generation features, but unfortunately there have been too many netbooks launched in the past few months, which make the Xnote Mini X130 look very ordinary.

Turning the attention towards the pros of this netbook, one of the exciting features in the new X130 netbook is its Smart Onbutton. It can boot up the computer in less than 7 seconds, enabling you to access normally used functions like music player, web browser, chat application, image browser on-the-fly.

The salient specifications of this new LG netbook include 160GB hard drive, 9-cell battery, 10.1 inches WSVGA LCD display and Intel Atom processor. It is powered by the Windows 7 Operating System, and comes with a HDMI port, 4-USB ports, Bluetooth and Wireless (WiFi) connectivity.

However, as far as the pricing is concerned, the Mini X130 is not at all a cheap deal at $599.98 and you can find several other worthy netbooks in this price range, which can deliver satisfactory performance.

It comes with 1.3MP integrated web camera, Intel GMA 950 video card and looks almost identical to its predecessor X120. Featuring the Intel Atom Processor N270, and 512KB L2 Cache Intel 945 GSE Express Chipset, X130 differs with the X120 only by the 9-cell battery.

But, before you put your money on this netbook, do take a look at other current offerings in the market.

Asus Laptop Reviews – The Asus Eee Netbook Series

It is official. ASUS is currently the market leader when it comes to netbooks/mini laptops. Since the launch of the ASUS Eee PC series, it has been a permanent fixture in the bestseller’s list. Thanks to good timing and foresight, it was one of the first netbook series to hit the market, taking the PC world by storm. Lets take a closer look at 3 of the hottest models in this range.

ASUS Eee PC 1000HE: This model is currently arguably the best netbook in the market. It has some of the most powerful specs and the best features. It is powered by an Intel Atom N20 Processor (1.66GHz), 1GB of RAM and has 160GB in storage. One of the main highlights of this model is its long battery life. The manufacturers claim that it can last up to 9.5 hours on a single charge. While testing it, I could easily reach 8 hours of use on one charge. It also has Bluetooth connectivity.

ASUS Eee PC 1008HA Seashell: One of the biggest complaints about ASUS netbooks is that it seems that the manufacturers pay very little or no attention to the aesthetics of the device. Till the launch of the 1008HA, the whole netbook range sports a simple, no-frills (and almost dull) design. The 1008HA is the answer to all style-conscious consumers out there. To put it simply, this model is just gorgeous! When closed, the thickest point is in the middle, as it tapers of on its sides. It is very curvy and has a glossy external casing. It has similar specs as the 1000HE except that it has a shorter battery life (6 hours), no Bluetooth, and a non-removable battery. It also a little more expensive than usual, but I think the sleek and **** design makes it worth every penny.

Asus Eee PC 1000HA: This model is a lower-end version of the 1000HE. It is powered by Intel’s N270 Atom processor (1.6GHZ), and has a 160GB hard drive. It has an 802.11b/g connection (instead of a 802.11b/g/n) and does not come with Bluetooth. It also has a shorter 7-hour battery lifespan. This model still proves to be a good buy for those who wish to get a simple no-frills netbook.

Samsung NC10 Netbook Review – The World’s Lightest Netbook

The new Samsung NC10 netbook is a 10.2″ netbook powered by Intel Atom N270 processor. It comes with 1024 MB RAM of memory plus a 160 GB of hard drive. The NC10 is considered as one of the best netbook Samsung has ever produced. The overall design looks solid, elegant and neat. It also comes with 3 distinct colours to choose from, that is white, black and blue.

The elegant look of Samsung NC10 does not imply that it didn’t come without imperfection. Based on our observation, there is a design weakness in the hinges that could somehow weaken in the long run. It is not advisable to rotate the LCD display screen for more than 45-degree. There is a tendency of possible snapping and separating of the display screen if forces were applied beyond the point.

Another disadvantage of Samsung NC10 we realized is that, the netbook battery is attached out of the base by an extra 5mm to the netbook depth. The overall dimension of the battery measured at 260 x 170 x 30mm, and it weighed 1.3kg. So there is a noticeable issue associated with the balance of the netbook, as the rear is heavier than the front.

The primary use of Samsung NC10 is mainly as a second computer while you are on the move or travelling. The overall performance of this netbook is good and can operate any kinds of daily tasks without too much of problem. Do not expect too much out from it, as this is best for only simple word processing and surfing the net.

When you buy the new Samsung NC10, it will come pre-installed with Windows XP operating system as standard. On top of that, it also installed with some addition applications such as the Samsung Battery Manager and Recovery Solution III to help users manage their task more efficiently. If you are a keen online surfer, you will definitely like this Samsung netbook more. It provides users with additional online protection by pre-installed McAfee Internet Security as part of their package. This is certainly an additional bonus compared to other rival netbook brands when come to make the purchasing decisions.

As a verdict, there are two main aspects that make Samsung NC10 stand out to other rival netbooks – the display screen and keyboard. It has a 10.2″ display screen with 1024 x 600 pixel resolution. With such specification, users will expect a reasonable size of display image. Overall, the new Samsung NC10 is one of the world’s lightest netbook and the best buy netbook in the UK.

Brown Netbook Reviews – The Toshiba Mini Netbook

Netbooks today come in a wide array of colors. Still, manufacturers tend to shy away from more adventurous shades such as purple, green and brown. Those of us who wish to decorate our netbooks with more unique colors would usually need to resolve to netbook skins that have to be purchased separately.

Toshiba’s late entry into the netbook market is marked by the release of the Toshiba Mini Netbook. It comes in 5 colors, namely black, white, pink blue and brown. Yes, Brown! You may think that it is a strange color for a netbook, but the Toshiba designers did a wonderful job in putting together a great-looking netbook.

The Toshiba Mini has an Intel Atom N280 processor, 1GB of RAM and a 160 GB hard drive. It has an impressive combination of some of the best specs and features in the market including an amazing 9 hours of battery life and the ability to charge USB enabled devices even when the machine is off.

The brown Toshiba mini has a matte external brown casing that is highlighted by a copper/gold hinge that gives it a really elegant look. It looks like something from the Louis Vuitton store. On the inside, the comfortable keyboard and the huge track pad is decorated in a shade of silver. The only two drawbacks in this model’s design is the thick frame around the screen and the protruding battery back on the back. Other than then, I personally think that the brown Toshiba looks slimmer and better than any other competing models in the market. It also helps to know that this model has been given the editor’s choice award by many prominent tech publications.

The Notebook (Movie Review)

Adapted to screen from the Nicholas Sparks novel of the same name, The Notebook is one of the best romantic dramas to hit the big screen in decades. Garnering high marks from a wide-range of critics, The Notebook is a funny and emotional film which deals with love, relationships, and the risks people take. James Garner turns in a notable performance as the elder man, Duke, who reads the pages of his notebook to dying nursing home resident Allie (Gena Rowlands). Overall, this is a classic “chick flick” with a dramatic twist. Set in the World War II era, The Notebook is a great film…

Duke (James Garner) regularly reads from the pages of a notebook to an older woman in a nursing home. Suffering from Alzheimer’s disease, her memories of the parts which he’s read in the past appears and disappears without order, but Duke continues to read to her because of their deep and enduring friendship.

The notebook’s story centers around the lives of a teenage boy and girl who meet at a carnival in the late-1930s. At first, Allie Hamilton doesn’t know what to think of Noah Calhoun, but she soon gives into his insistence that they go out on a date. When Noah and Allie fall deeply in love, Allie’s parents try to break up the couple. The Hamiltons are rich, and Noah and his father are from the poor side of town. Nevertheless, Allie and Noah are determined to be together.

When World War II breaks out, Noah is sent into conflict. He writes numerous letters to his love, but they go unanswered because Allie’s parents are hiding the letters as well as her replies to Noah.
